We are seeking a motivated self-starter for our church secretary position. Your job is to ensure that the church is running efficiently, accurately, and with discretion for people’s personal information. The church secretary is responsible to the Senior Pastor and Personnel Committee with an emphasis to the needs of the daily function of business operations of the church and as an outreach to the unchurched members of the community.

This position will be considered part-time Monday-Friday.

Job Qualifications

If you’re the right person for this opportunity, you will have previous experience providing administrative support to a busy office and using Microsoft Office.

Other qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Previous secretarial or administrative assistant experience preferred

  • Strong computer skills required

  • Good communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • General knowledge of the Bible and Southern Baptist culture

 

The right candidate for this position will be able to:

  • Handle communications between the church staff, church members, and the community. Includes but not limited to phone calls, email, texting, digital media, and/or social media.

  • Greet the public and answer phone calls, handle requests, questions and/or concerns

  • Prepare the worship bulletin for publication and distribution to include inserts and special announcements.

  • Maintain the Church Calendar

  • Process mail

  • Monitor security cameras and buzzing visitors into the building.

  • File documents and other paperwork

  • Maintain MailChimp email system
